Ghost Bikes are silent memorials for riders who have been killed by cars.
Warchild over at the Zoobomb site posted a list for me of the locations in Portland where these bikes have been installed. I'm going to visit them one by one. Yesterday I only had the time for a quick stop at 41st and Belmont and the memorial for two riders, Angela Leazenby and Orion Satushek. Orion and Angela were killed in 2003 by 49-year-old Lindsey Llaneza who was driving drunk. The bikes are sad and beautiful and have a palpable energy if you hang with them a few minutes. Creativity and mourning made these. I'll post others as I visit them.
