Curry and Crayons

Yet another top Curry Night! And yet another brought to you by the good folks who invented the Coin Star! With another odd bag of spare change unearthed in a moving box away we ran to dump the contents into the big green spare change machine. Round and round it went and a few minutes later ~ hey presto ~ forty dollars and nineteen cents! That's forty dollars and nineteen cents closer to curry and we were once again totally on for Curry Night.

The troops numbered 15 plus three people cooking, and the food came out OK for sure. We even figured out the dough barley escaping with our lives the disaster that befell us the last time we tried baking (that saga here: http://timothy-hull.blogspot.com/2006_12_07_archive.html). Carla and Jason lived it large on the cooking front and the house smelled like nan and spices.

I headed up the, at this point traditional, chicken korma and rich tomatoes and chicken curry. Also, I baked spicy wedges of potato which really came out well. Jason headed up the "don't forget about the nan in the oven" patrol, while Carla made a rocking dal and a big mugbean and cauliflower dish. Missy was seemingly happy to be volunteered to make dessert by dipping banana bits into lemon juice then rolling them in coconut flakes. Oh, and the rice too. The purest Basmati we could afford on spare change.

Way to go gang!
