A Solstice Swing

Planet party. The world admires it’s handiwork. Daises, grasses, wind, seasons, woods smell like nettles and fields are thick with blackberry brambles. Rosehips too. And a million others. Happy solstice.
I went round to Larry's. He is a great tinkerer, contraption builder, and lifelong kid. Years ago he built "The Swing". The swing is a rhombic dodecahedron and it spins in circles and has been scaring the hell out of me for thirty years. Untold numbers of accidents have occurred on the swing, mostly when kids (and adults) don't figure that you have to be REALLY careful when you walk towards the thing 'cos kids (and adults) are flying (literally) at colossal speeds around in circles. It's glorious. It's like flying. I have lots of Larry Dobson stories and some I must recount later.

The solstice sun set in tangerine honey (my favorite color).
Before it set we had a hippy parade with all sorts of whistles and drums down through the woods below the swing to a field full of daisies. The kids were waiting there and met us with bits of burning sage and we all said a fond hello to the summer.
Here's a little video of the swing in action - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmNfrt7iS14.
