Jeff busted us in to see the Frames with Josh Ritter opening at the Aladdin Theater. I was looking forward to seeing the Frames as they are from Dublin and I love their song Revelate. So it was a sad evening to realize that I was actually suffering through some strangely boring and tepid music. With the exception of the singing front man the Frames looked bored, said from the stage they wished that they were across town seeing Franz Fredanand (who happened to be playing on the west side of town), and worst of all the bass player was chewing gum! As if sounding like a cheap Coldplay knockoff wasn't bad enough the gum chewing completely sealed the deal. Josh Ritter didn't really float my boat either which was also sad in a way as he's really quite good. He has this smiling, milk-drinking, farm boy approach to performing which the girls love, and suits him for sure. I just found it all a tad tedious. Ah well.....
